Selecting a Project in FieldReporter

Overview

This article explains how to log in to FieldReporter and select a project before recording Daily Sign-In Logs (DSLs). FieldReporter allows contractors, site managers, and field employees to access project-specific sign-in and compliance workflows directly from the job site. Selecting the correct project is important because all employee sign-ins, sign-outs, approvals, and compliance records are tied to the selected project. Completing this process ensures DSL activity is associated with the correct certified payroll and reporting records.

Before You Begin

Before logging in to FieldReporter:

  • You must have access to a contractor account assigned to an active project.
  • Your agency must have FieldReporter enabled.
  • Your contractor organization must already be associated with at least one project.
  • You must know your login credentials.

If you are using kiosk mode on a shared device, your site manager may already have the project selected for you.

Who This Applies To

This article applies to users with the following roles:

  • Contractor Site Managers

If your organization’s configuration differs, contact your System Administrator.

Steps

Selecting a Project

  1. Open the FieldReporter application.
  2. Enter your assigned username and password and select Log In.
  3. After signing in, FieldReporter verifies whether your organization has access to the application.

  4. Review the list of available projects.
  5. Locate the project you want to access.
  6. Select the project name.

After selecting a project:

  • The selected project becomes the active DSL project.
  • Employees can begin signing in and out.
  • Site managers can enable kiosk mode.
  • Daily sign-in logs are associated with the selected project.
  • Approved DSL records become available for certified payroll validation.

All sign-in activity, approvals, and compliance checks will reference the selected project.

Searching for a Project

If you have access to multiple projects, you can use search to quickly find a project.

  1. Locate the Search Projects field, enter part of the project name.
  2. Review the filtered search results, select the correct project.

Customizing the Project Display Name

Site Managers can customize the project label displayed to employees.

  2. Enter the project name or job site description. This is the name the employees would see.
  3. Select Save.
