Manage a Utilization Plan After Submission

Overview

This article explains post-submission options for a utilization plan. Use it to understand how notifications, review outcomes, update requests, and withdrawal availability may affect a plan after it has been submitted.

Before You Begin

Before withdrawing a utilization plan, confirm that:

  • The plan has already been submitted.
  • The organization has not reviewed or acted on the plan.
  • The due date has not passed.
  • You have enough time to make updates and resubmit the plan before the due date.

After the due date passes, or after the organization makes a decision on the plan, the plan can no longer be withdrawn.

Steps

After You Submit

After the plan is submitted, you may receive confirmation by email or fax, depending on the organization’s notification settings.

The organization will review the plan and take action. You will be notified when review is complete or if additional information is required.

If the organization requires updates, review the Utilization Plan Summary for instructions.

To learn more about plan statuses and what they mean, see Understanding Utilization Plan Statuses.

Withdraw a Submitted Plan

You may be able to withdraw a submitted plan if you need to make changes before the organization reviews it.

  1. Open the submitted utilization plan.

For help locating your plan, see Accessing Your Utilization Plan as a Vendor.

  2. Review the Utilization Plan: View Plan page.
  3. Select Withdraw Utilization Plan.
  4. Confirm the withdrawal, if prompted.
  5. Make the needed updates to the plan.
  6. Resubmit the plan before the due date.

Withdrawing a plan does not change the due date. After the due date passes, or after the organization makes a decision on the plan, the plan can no longer be withdrawn.

Definitions

Field or Option

Description

Withdraw Utilization Plan The option used to withdraw a submitted plan before the organization reviews it.
Utilization Plan: View Plan The page where you can view the submitted plan and available actions.
Due Date The deadline for submitting or resubmitting the utilization plan.
Resubmit The action used to submit the updated plan again after changes are made.

Summary

After submission, a utilization plan moves into the organization’s review process. Notifications, plan statuses, and summary instructions help you understand the current review outcome and whether any follow-up action is needed. If changes are needed before review, withdrawal may be available, but the original due date still applies.
